Our Team

Jasmine Dailida brings over a decade of experience in special education, school leadership, and program development to her role as Executive Director of Coral Reef Academy. Her career spans early childhood through middle school, including teaching students with emotional and behavioral needs, supporting gifted and twice-exceptional learners, and leading multi-site programs centered on individualized, strengths-based instruction.

Prior to joining Coral Reef Academy, Jasmine held director-level roles at early childhood education centers, and served as Founding Director of a gifted-focused early childhood program built on play-based curriculum. She began her career teaching 4th grade at a school known for its whole-child approach to community development, an experience that shaped her belief that serving a child means supporting the whole family and community around them.

Jasmine holds a master’s degree in Childhood Education, a bachelor’s degree in Education, and a certificate in School Management and Leadership. As both an educator and the parent of a twice exceptional child, Jasmine brings professional expertise and lived experience to supporting students with diverse learning needs. She relocated with her family to St. Croix and is honored to lead the Coral Reef Academy community.

Quinn has been at Coral Reef since 2020, when she started as the first lead teacher for the high school, CRAFT classroom. In 2022, she was promoted to Assistant Director. Before working at Coral Reef, Quinn managed the tutoring program at Island Therapy Solutions. She has over a decade of experience teaching in private schools in the Washington, DC area and as a teaching assistant at George Washington University and Agnes Scott College. She lives on island with her husband, who is a chef, and her daughter.

Melanie, or “Mel,” was born and raised in San Francisco,  California.  She moved to St. Croix 3 years ago. Mel has been working with children for many years, and after living on the island, she felt the desire to return to working with children and wanted to serve the St. Croix community. Mel is currently a paraprofessional in the High School class known as CRAFT. Mel enjoys free swimming in the sea, music is her remedy, and positive vibes stay in her heart!

Anna Gilbert is a floating paraprofessional at Coral Reef Academy, supporting students across all classrooms. In addition to her classroom work, Anna helps with breakfast and lunch delivery and assists at the front desk as needed. She works part-time at Coral Reef while pursuing her studies.

Kiyarra is passionate about working with kids with disabilities of all ages. Kiyarra is a recent graduate of the University of the Virgin Islands, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. When she’s not working, you can find her hiking, painting, crocheting, and spending time with family, including her Maltese poodle “Miso.” Kiyarra is now the Lead Teacher for the Foundations classroom (previously known as Class 1) at Coral Reef Academy, where she embarks on something new and creative every day.

Thalia has worked at Coral Reef Academy since 2021 and has a strong passion for art and working with children with disabilities. She is currently working as a paraprofessional in Foundations (previously known as Class 1) but as worked with all the different students we have and enjoys learning new things about them and the best ways for us to help them. She has her credentials in Early Childhood Education and has gone back to school to get her Associates in Early Childhood Education and want to continue her education so she can be a Sped Teacher. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, reading, spending time with her family, and hanging out with her dogs Belle and Puffy.

Shiniqua Gomez, known as “Ms. Niki,” is a paraprofessional in the Transitions classroom (previously known as Class 2) at Coral Reef Academy.

Jon is originally from New York state.  He moved to St. Croix 13 years ago and has been at Coral Reef Academy for three years. He has been part of Coral Reef Academy for three years, and currently serves as the Lead Teacher for the Upper classroom. Known to students as “Mr. Jon,” he first studied philosophy before earning a Master’s in Education from the University of the Virgin Islands. Growing up, Jon played hockey and later became a professional inline skater. Outside the classroom, he loves helping others, sailing, the ocean, and having fun!

Katherine, or “Ms. Kathy,” began her career as a teaching assistant at the Department of Human Services Head Start program. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashworth College. Ms. Kathy enjoys hiking, swimming, dancing, and listening to music. She is currently a paraprofessional in the middle school class at Coral Reef Academy, and says, “I’m enjoying every moment of this new journey!”

La-Niqua Hodge, known as “Ms. Lala,” was born on St. Thomas and raised in St. Croix until she was about 14. She moved back to St. Croix in 2023 and earned her RBT credentials working in the ABA field before joining the Upper School at Coral Reef Academy. La-Niqua has a culinary background as a pastry chef, but found her second passion working with kids with disabilities. In her free time, she loves reading, cooking and baking, and going to the movies.

XiaXiang Washington Xiaxiang is a paraprofessional with a background as a Registered Behavior Technician . She has had the joy of working with children and adults with disabilities . She also enjoys getting to know each child and being part of their growth and everyday accomplishments . Outside of work, she is a proud mom who loves spending time and having fun with my daughter. She also enjoys reading , cooking , and coloring. Xiaxiang is a creative, family-oriented person who loves making others feel supported and cared for!

St. Thomas Site Director & Foundations Teacher Amanda is a native Virgin Islander, born and raised on St. Thomas. She earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Inclusive Education and Curriculum from Portland State University. As the Site Director for St. Thomas and a teacher, Amanda is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where every child can thrive. She absolutely loves working with children and supporting students with a range of abilities to access the education they deserve. She is dedicated to supporting children’s growth, development, and individual learning needs. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, often at the beach or out on the boat. She loves arts and crafts, reading, completing jigsaw puzzles, and snuggling with her cat.

Rhiana Henry was born and raised in beautiful St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and has always been passionate about helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. She currently serves as a Behavior Technician at Island Therapy Solutions (ITS) and as a Paraprofessional in the Foundations classroom at Coral Reef Academy’s St. Thomas campus, where she is dedicated to creating positive, supportive learning environments and building meaningful relationships with every child she works with. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), combining her passion for education and healthcare to support children and their families. Rhiana believes every child has unique strengths and is committed to helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. It’s a privilege for her to be part of each child’s journey and to make a positive impact in her community every day.

Jon is originally from New York state.  He moved to St. Croix 13 years ago and has been at Coral Reef Academy for three years. He has been part of Coral Reef Academy for three years, and currently serves as the Lead Teacher for the Upper classroom. XiaXiang Washington Xiaxiang is a paraprofessional with a background as a Registered Behavior Technician . She has had the joy of working with children and adults with disabilities . She also enjoys getting to know each child and being part of their growth and everyday accomplishments . Outside of work, she is a proud mom who loves spending time and having fun with my daughter. She also enjoys reading , cooking , and coloring. Xiaxiang is a creative, family-oriented person who loves making others feel supported and cared for!

She earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Inclusive Education and Curriculum from Portland State University. As the Site Director for St. Thomas and a teacher, Amanda is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where every child can thrive. She absolutely loves working with children and supporting students with a range of abilities to access the education they deserve. She is dedicated to supporting children’s growth, development, and individual learning needs. Her career spans early childhood through middle school, including teaching students with emotional and behavioral needs, supporting gifted and twice-exceptional learners, and leading multi-site programs centered on individualized, strengths-based instruction.

Prior to joining Coral Reef Academy, Jasmine held director-level roles at early childhood education centers, and served as Founding Director of a gifted-focused early childhood program built on play-based curriculum. She began her career teaching 4th grade at a school known for its whole-child approach to community development, an experience that shaped her belief that serving a child means supporting the whole family and community around them.

He has been part of Coral Reef Academy for three years, and currently serves as the Lead Teacher for the Upper classroom. In her free time, she loves reading, cooking and baking, and going to the movies.

XiaXiang Washington Xiaxiang is a paraprofessional with a background as a Registered Behavior Technician . She has had the joy of working with children and adults with disabilities . She also enjoys getting to know each child and being part of their growth and everyday accomplishments . Outside of work, she is a proud mom who loves spending time and having fun with my daughter.
